The Art Institute of Chicago is an institution everyone should see at least once. Just don’t expect to see it all in one day! At around a million square feet, and with 300,000 pieces, you need to carefully pick and choose what you visit in your day. There are the perennial favorites like the Miniatures Room, Tiffany stained glass, or Georges Seurat’s A Sunday on La Grande Jatte. But there also dozens of galleries of galleries, from surrealists to ancient Japan, Egypt and Mesopotamia -not to mention special temporary shows. Be prepared to walk a lot and be very tired. But it so very amazing and worth it.
