Slightly north of Mt. Horeb, Stewart Lake offers a picnic area, beach and placid lake, created by a small damn. A hiking trail runs first along the lake, then splits, crossing a marsh and a small stream. The shady wooded, and far steeper path, is edged by jumbled rock formations. While parts of the park are edged by housing, minutes down the trail you feel like you are in wilderness.
