To many, Olbrich Gardens is a place to visit in the warm months for the blooms, rolling lawns, fountains and the Thai Pavilion. But in Winter the Bolz Conservatory is a small slice of tropical heaven. For a mere $2, you can soak in two things sorely lacking in a Wisconsin Winter – heat and green. Wander through a varied collection of tropical trees and flowering plants. A waterfall and series of small ponds, stocked with koi, provide a central focal point. On a quiet day you may even be able to hear the little quails making their twiddling sounds as they zip across the trails…or the snow sliding off the glass.
