Just east of Whitewater are two sister trails, the Nordic and John Muir Trails. Entrances are facing each other. Both offer miles of lovely, mostly easy, hiking. While there are some hilly areas, trails are rated for ease. Signage is pretty good and maps are available. There are few particularly spectacular parts of the trails, but they make for an enjoyable hike on a nice day. Come back in winter for snow-shoeing and cross-country skiing.

Also, drives around the Whitewater and Delavan Lakes are quite scenic.
