Update Fall 22: The indoor dog park is now closed. We’re very upset to see this wonderful service go as it was perfect for the really nasty weather. Apparently the private outside dog park is still open under new ownership.
Do you and your pupper have a case of cabin fever? Is your doggo not the most social and they prefer to play alone or with a familiar friend? Can’t hack another frigid walk outside? Check out My Dog and Me indoor/outdoor dog park! This privately owned business is an old dairy barn, converted into an indoor agility/play area. There is also a large outdoor play area, too. Book a 45 minute private slot via a slick online booking system. You and your dog(s) then get the private area to yourselves. No competition for toys, no worries about aggression – just lots of romping around.
While the indoor play area is a sealed room, it is not heated. However, it is far warmer here than outside. The floor is dirt, so be prepared for you and your buddy to get a bit grubby. There are numerous agility toys, a tug rope, tub and other fun things for your dog to play with. Or simply let them run free, chasing their favorite ball or frisbee.
An indoor session is $25/45 minutes, outdoor is $15/45 minutes. They do offer bulk rate packages too. These are a bit pricey to do on a regular basis, considering a dog park license is $35 for a year. But if your pup needs to blow off some steam and the weather is inclement, it is well worth the occasional splurge. Clean, well kept-up and close to the East side of Madison.
Note: Fankhauser Rd is a bit hidden. Turn directly after Critters Coral, but before the railroad tracks. The road is essentially a long, private drive to the farm.
