Billed as “Wausau’s Happy Place”, this 30 acre garden is a lovely new(ish) location to visit. Donated in 2003, the 30-acre gardens are clearly still a work in progress. What is there and growing in is quite attractive. Wander through an experimental and education garden, open grassy areas, past a large pond, into a shade garden and through the Asian-inspired garden. The gardens are open to leashed dogs. Check out the garden calendar for year-round events – from luminaria in winter to the Holi color festival in summer, booze and botany and theatre productions. An excellent location and well worth a visit.
