Update Fall 2022: The retail location on the west side also appears to be closed, and the numbers on their Facebook, Google Business listing and website are all disconnected.
Update 2021: Looks like Mallatt’s is now Make It Up! Costumes and Make Up. They appear to mostly do online sales. There is no longer an address listed on their site or facebook page. But they do seem to still do rentals.
Mallatt’s Pharmacy and Costumes shops were a Madison institution. Needed just the perfect glitter eye-shadow, powdered wig or pointy ears for your costume? Drawing a total blank and the hours were ticking until a party? Mallatt’s always had just the right thing (plus a few other items that would end up in your basket). Their closing in 2017 was sad and rather shocking.
