Lake Redstone and its waterfall are a delightful find. A short drive from the Dells, it has a large sandy beach, lots of shady spots to picnic, great boating, and a decent sized waterfall. All in all, a perfect spot to spend a sunny day.

However, in the Summer of Covid, our visit was unnerving, to say the least. Dozens of people, cheek to jowl, no masks, no distancing. We went down the trail to take a quick peek at the waterfall, then found a small beach south of the waterfall’s bridge on Big Creek. This area was very peaceful for wading, but not really worth the long drive. On the whole, a very attractive area but we aren’t likely to return until it is far less busy or safer – Fall or once the pandemic is over.
