James Tellen, like many fellow Wisconsinites, was bitten by the cement bug and the desire to create large, lumpen pieces of art on his property. “Naive” is the kindest term for his work. Some pieces, like the one of Abraham Lincoln, do show some skill. Regardless of quality, one has to admire the artists drive and desire to create. The garden, now overseen by the Kohler Foundation, abuts Town of Wilson Forestry land. Follow the path out of the garden and into the woods for a lovely, shaded walk.
