Fred Smith, like so many folk artists, was bitten by the creative bug late in life. But he certainly made up for lost time, creating his park of 230 concrete figures. Pieces include “portraits” of friends and neighbors, famous figures of the day and animals. They are decorated with bits of broken glass bottles and other found ephemera. Interesting and, frankly, a bit overwhelming.
