The Chicago Botanic Garden is amazing! There’s something for every plant lover here – Japanese gardens, English cottage gardens, experimental plants, natives, edible, tropical and even artwork made of plants. With nearly 400 acres, wear comfy shoes and plan to spend a minimum of four hours wandering around (though you can easily take the whole day). There are trams, but they won’t allow you to see nearly as much as you would on foot. In addition to the perennials beds and gardens, there are also many plantings of annuals, special shows and events, bonsai and, of course, a gift shop. A truly gorgeous garden!
Note: in addition to admission, there is also a parking fee. Check their website for free admission days to save a few (or quite a few) bucks.
