Big Bay State Park takes a bit of schlep to reach. It is located on Madeline Island, near the shore of Bayfield. A regular ferry can take you and your car across the bay in about 20 minutes. Arrive early as the ferry is often very busy in peak season. Once at the park, however, you will usually have the acres of gorgeous trails overlooking Big Bay to explore mostly to yourself. The rock cliffs and azure waters under immense skies can fascinate for hours.
