Arthur’s Supper Club looks like a normal Wisconsin supper club from the outside. But perhaps influenced by the House on the Rock (only a short distance away) the inside is a fantastic whimsy. Inspired by King Arthur, you can dine on your standard supper club fare – essentially surf and turf, in addition in incredible homemade bread. While you wait, you will be amused by numerous small tablets showing a variety of Arthurian travel and history videos (and, I swear, what looked like a few shots of Monty Python and the Search for the Holy Grail). Added to the recorded decor are tapestries, fake swords and shields, a suit of armor, faux candle holders and more – all interspersed between mini-blinds. Their coup de grace is an enormous “stone” mound in the bar, replete with a fireplace, castle tableaux and, of course, a sword. Don’t go out of your way just to eat here, but if you’re in the area and want a whimsical meal, stop on by.
