Housed in an old warehouse, Architectural Antiques hosts a vast array of salvaged architectural features. Many of the most graceful details on historic architecture end up in dumpsters – lighting fixtures, glass doorknobs, stained glass windows, wood paneling and more. Architectural Antiques bids on and salvages these finely crafted details and then resells them. You can purchase small touches – door-knockers, porcelain knob pulls, sconces – larger touches – doors, stained glass windows, fountains- and enormous pieces – church front-pieces, entire stairways, glass-backed bars. It’s all there, waiting to be found, brought home and re-loved. Mind you, this sort of elegant love is pricey. We had a hard time deciding between a $37,000 carved mantel and a Green Man door-knocker. Guess which one won.
